Kyparissia’s (permanent) population counts 7500 inhabitants, shared among ten beautiful communities across the location. It is the capital of the new municipality Trifylia of Messinia region. The compelling rocks, the dense vegetation of Mount “Egaleo” and the marvelous sand beaches of Kyparissia Gulf are bond together harmoniously offering a fascinating picture to the visitor.

You should definitely visit the village of “Raches” and the nearby archaeological site of “Peristeria” where you can see some vaulted tombs of Mycenaean civilization, the picturesque and beautiful village “Vrises” and next to it the monastery of “Katsimakadas”, the “Stasio” the “Armenioi”, and the “Spilia” villages where you can visit the traditional local tavernas and enjoy the local products and flavors.
Also take your children to see the famous “Castle of the Fairytales” in “Agrilis” and the excellent beach of the nearby village “Kalo Nero”, a place where the protected species of “Caretta – caretta” sea turtles lay their eggs and nest.
Kyparissia is located 235 km away from Athens and the visitor can drive a distance of 2 hours and 30 minutes from Athens, via Tripoli, using the impeccable National Road.
By bus it takes approximately 3.5 – 3 hours while there are scheduled departures on a daily basis from Athens.
Through Patras, the distance is 120 km longer and the visitor needs 4 hours by car, 5 hours 1/2 by bus and 6 hours by train “INTERCITY”.
The city is also accessed by airplane since there are three weekly flights connecting Athens with the airport of Kalamata, which is just 50 km from Kyparissia; furthermore there are various charter flights connecting foreign airports with Kalamata and Andravida hubs [70 km away].
