Porto Cheli

Things to do - general

Porto Heli is in the prefecture of Argolis in the Peloponnese. It lies approx. 180 km from Athens and is accessed by road or boat.
It belongs to the municipality of Hermionida and its administrative capital is Kranidi.

Amongst dozens of beaches, the most famous are Ververoda, Kounoupi, Hinitsa, Saint Aemilianus, Costa, Lepitsa and Thyni. However, there are numerous natural bays and you may want to explore the area yourself to discover isolated beaches…

The access to the islands of Hydra and Spetses is very easy and straightforward. In order to go to Spetses you can pass from Costa with the traditional boat or water taxi. There is also a ferry boat, but remember that in Spetses automobile traffic is prohibited (only motorcycles are allowed).
To Hydra, you may arrive either by taxi boat or hydrofoil. The distances are small and you should not hesitate to make these excursions if your time permits.
By car you can also browse Hermione, Koilada and other traditional villages.

In our area, there is a modern public health center as well as private doctors, pharmacies, several supermarkets, school for skiing, sailing & diving and of course countless choices for cafe/bars and taverns/restaurants.

Points of interest are: the ancient town of fishermen in Porto Heli, the cosmopolitan area of St. Aemilianus with the picturesque chapel, the famous cave Frachthi at Koilada, the windmills in Kranidi, the caves near the Didyma village, the convent of Agioi Anargyroi and the “Avgo” monastery.
The theater at Epidaurus is located approximately 40 km far from Porto Heli.
